The Monogram Garment is an element of my textile senior thesis, inspired by the fifteen years I'd spent dancing under ballet companies across the world. Dancers in training dedicate roughly 75-80% of their waking lives in front of mirrors; after some calculations, I've concluded over 28,000 hours of my own life have been spent analyzing my reflection. This garment is a direct commentary on the mirror's skewed perception of reflection and the imprisoned feeling of provoked physical and emotional entanglement.
